If you are looking to learn for signs of burnout, you are in the right spot.
Overworking your mind and body is not sustainable. We’re not designed to be pushed to the crazy limits we set for ourselves. If you consistently experience high levels of stress without taking steps to manage or reduce it, exhaustion eventually takes over, and you will emotionally and physically burn out.
It’s a gradual process, so you might not notice symptoms immediately. But once it arrives in all its glory, it can affect your ability to function across all aspects of life.
Key Signs of Burnout:
- Difficulty concentrating
- Forgetfulness
- Diminished pride in your work
- Losing sight of yourself and your goals
- Difficulty maintaining relationships and being present with loved ones
- Frustration and irritability with co-workers
- Unexplained muscle tension, pain, fatigue, and insomnia
You need to be honest with yourself. What is the root cause of your burnout? Why is this happening? Once you find the source, you’ll be able to start thinking of ways to ease it.
How To Beat Burnout:
- Identify your stressors – What is causing your burnout? And how can you minimize those stressors? Get to the root cause.
- Journal – Put your thoughts onto paper. Too many thoughts in your head with nowhere to go can cause an explosion. Write them down. Organize them. Visualize them.
- Exercise – Might seem crazy, since you are experiencing burnout, but this will help to boost serotonin levels and revitalize your body and mind.
- Get outside – Putting your mind and body in nature can have relaxation effects, such as lowering blood pressure, and helps rejuvinate your spirits.
- Mindfulness – Yoga and meditation are good examples. Create alignment in your life and you will feel a difference in your thought processes.
Burnout is common, but that doesn’t mean it’s acceptable. If you are suffering from burnout, you need to find ways to put an end to it, otherwise it will continue to destroy you day by day. Use these tips to help you gain some ease and tranquility in your life.
